To me Naboomspruit means so much: It symbolizes to me a green bushveld as far as the eye can see, game that can be seen from many dirt tracks running through the area, the Waterberg, and water rushing down the slopes of the mountains and hills after good rains.
Naboomspruit lies in the Limpopo region and was founded in 1910. It was named after the naboom (euphorbia) trees found here.
Like most places in Limpopo the name was changed to Mookgophong.
The main attraction of the town are definitely the many game and hunting farms, lodges and warm mineral springs.
On the website http://www.routes.co.za/lp/mookgopong/index.html you'll find a good map with the location of the town.
Below are photographs from the direct vicinity of Naboom.

Doringdraai Nature Reserve
Doringdraai is a provincial reserve about 30km from Naboomspruit.
Just look at the colour of the sky, the water, and do you see the red hartebeest in the grass?
I again realize why do I live in Naboomspruit? The bushveld is unique, beautiful, paradise.
The lush nature at one of the many lodges near Naboom.
The Waterberg is called the Waterberg for only one reason. You can imagine. Bokpoort after a shower of rain.

Mountain View Game Lodge
The bigger Naboom district offers so much for responsible adrenaline junkies.
These two photographs above were taken at our Big 5 reserve, Entabeni.
